Storielied is a project that found its origins in 2011. I decided to write songs that are inspired by novels and short stories by writers' whose works inspired me. I started working on this project in 2011 and released a live CD and DVD in 2012. This was my first Afrikaans project since I started releasing music in 1999. So it was a big moment. It marked a turning point in my career in the sense that it opened doors to new audiences and performance opportunities not only in South Africa but also in Netherlands. And I discovered I actually enjoy writing lyrics and songs in my mother tongue. You can read more about the stories that inspired the songs by scrolling down.
